Jet lag has its good and bad points. It can get one out and about, out of the fear of going to sleep at 5pm. It can also make for some bad decisions, due to the fog in one’s head that won’t seem to lift.
I like to think of myself as an optimist, so let’s go with the good points first.
I was getting sleepy at 5pm today, so I went for a walk around San Francisco. I saw some lovely sites. I normally would not do that. I have a full day ahead tomorrow, and I would have stayed indoors, probably to work on some project. So that was a great thing jet lag did for me.
This morning, or as some people call it, noon, when I got up and out, was rough. I did not know head from tails. But if one read yesterday’s saga on this site or twitter, my bags did not arrive. As of noon today, still a no-show. So I had to go do some quick shopping, because I had somewhere to be at 2pm.
I do not like shopping for more than 30 mins in normal circumstances, so doing it with jet lag was not a treat. It is like shopping drunk, poor choices are made.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I did get some decent things, it was just that they did not really go together. I can wear them separately, but together is not a good idea.
My bag did finally arrive, when I got back, so things are on the upswing.
San Francisco is a lovely place, and I am looking forward to the rest of the week.
